Angela Kisler, 47, arrested on multiple charges after resisting police officers investigating hit-and-run accident in Adams County, Indiana

Police said a drunk driver who crashed into another car and then drove away, resisted arrest in her driveway, slipped out of her handcuffs inside a squad car and then began screaming and kicking several officers. According to the affidavit for probable cause, on February 1, witnesses called 911 and said they saw Angela Kisler, 47, of Fort Wayne, hit a green Jeep near Trier and Lahmeyer Roads and then continue driving. They told police they believed Kisler was drunk. The witnesses followed Kisler to a home in the 7800-block of Willowwood Drive, near the Arlington Park area. When officers arrived at the home, they saw that the front driver’s side fender of Kisler’s car was damaged. While police were gathering information in the driveway, Kisler came out of the home. She told police the car in the driveway was hers and that she had driven home “safely.” She also told police she would pay for any damages that were a result of the hit-and-run crash. Police told Kisler she was under arrest for leaving the scene of an accident. During the arrest, Kisler began screaming in her driveway. Police said she refused to stop yelling and began pounding on the cage window of the squad car. According to police, Kisler tried to resist arrest and then slipped out of her handcuffs while in the squad car. She then began pounding on the cage window again. Once officers got Kisler out of the police car to handcuff her again, she grabbed an officer’s finger and bent it backwards. Kisler also kicked the officers. As the officers pinned Kisler against the car while attempting to handcuff her again, two of them fell down on the icy driveway, according to the probable cause. Kisler faces charges of resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct, and failure to stop at the scene of an accident resulting in damage to attended vehicle.
