According to Oklahoma State Troopers, Russell Foster, 63, was westbound on a Honda motorcycle on U.S. 60 when the car in front of him slowed down because another car was turning. Foster, who was not wearing a helmet, ran into the back of the car and was thrown 50 feet. He was airlifted to a hospital in Pryor, but died from injuries sustained in the crash.

An elderly woman is was killed and her husband injured and in critical condition after a head-on crash on Highway 60 west of Nowata. Mary Wendt, 77, was a passenger in a truck driven by her husband John Wendt, 77, who crossed the center line for an unknown reason just before 2 p.m. Sunday, November 30, 2014, and hit another pickup head on. John Wendt was extricated from the crash and transported by medical helicopter to Tulsa where he is listed in critical condition with internal and other injuries.

About 2 p.m. Saturday, Micah Walker, 35, of Nowata, was driving a car north on U.S. 169 south of Nowata with Calvin Wyckoff, 34, of Tulsa, as a passenger. The car Walker was driving crossed the center line of the highway and collided with a southbound car driven by Kevin Smith, 59, of Nowata. Maria Smith, 49, of Nowata and two teenage boys were passengers in the car Kevin Smith was driving. Walker, Wyckoff, Kevin Smith and Maria Smith died at the scene. One of the teenage boys died while being transported to a Tulsa hospital.

Shortly before 4:00am, a car driven by McGee with Beard and Bryer as passengers crossed into the oncoming lane while taking a curve and struck a car driven by Jackson head-on. Beard suffered brutal injuries and died at the scene, Bryer was hospitalized with critical leg and head injuries, Jackson sustained leg and head injuries but has been treated and released, and McGee sustained only leg injuries and has also been released. Investigation into the cause of the accident continues.

An Oklahoma man died Friday after the pickup he was driving left the highway and hit a tree.

Glenn Warren, 74, of Nowata, was driving south about 9 a.m. on U.S. 169 in Rogers County when his pickup left the highway to the right and hit a tree, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Barbara Warren, 72, of Nowata, was taken to a Tulsa hospital in critical condition.

Glenn Warren was not wearing his seat belt, but Barbara Warren was, the patrol reported. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
