Kenyada Hornes, 36, of Benton Harbor was traveling southbound on US-31 Sunday morning, when her vehicle exited the roadway and traveled into the median before rolling. Hornes and the back-seat passenger 26-year-old Nickie Thomas, also of Benton Harbor, were both ejected from the vehicle. Thomas was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Hornes was taken to Holland Hospital with critical injuries. Another passenger, 26-year-old Shalisa Porter, of Benton Harbor, was transported to Holland Hospital with serious injuries.

Sampson was eastbound on State Road at about 11:45pm, when he did not stop at the stop sign at West Randall Street and crashed his vehicle. Jordan Kuperus, 18, was driving south on 80th Avenue when he failed to stop at a stop sign at State Road and drove in front of a car operated by Roger Holman, 70. When the cars collided, the force of the collision caused Kuperus' seat belt to tear and we was ejected from the vehicle. Kuperus was treated for serious injures, while Holman was uninjured.
