Monday, December 30, 2013A man accused of driving under the influence was arrested after crashing into a pole in Stockton’s Seaport District.
Andrew Lopez, 23, was arrested for DUI, child endangerment and other traffic-related charges after he crashed while racing with another vehicle, according to Stockton police. He was driving with two juveniles in the area of Sonora and Lincoln Street at around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday when he lost control of his vehicle and hit the pole.

Monday, December 30, 2013The Cherokee County Coroner said a 50-year-old Union woman was killed in a single vehicle collision near Gaffney on New Years Eve.
Fowler identified the victim as Ruth Ann Allman Magner of 167 Magner Drive.
"Mrs. Magner was traveling south on South Carolina Highway 18 when she lost control of the 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pick-up truck she was driving at 8:08 p.m Tuesday near the intersection of Dawkins Road. The truck ran off the right side of the roadway, down an embankment and struck a tree on the driver's side. Mrs. Magner was pronounced dead at the scene," Fowler said.

Nashville, TNThree young people were injured, including two who were airlifted to the hospital, after a crash on Tuesday afternoon in Stewart County.
The Tennessee Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Jessie Cramer, of Paris, TN, was driving a 2008 Chevy Cobalt south on U.S. 79 near Bumpus Mills Road in Dover when the car crossed into the oncoming lane and struck a guardrail about 4 p.m.
Cobalt and a 14-year-old passenger were transported by medical helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Jacksonville, FLA man while riding his motorcycle Tuesday night was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crashing on Acree Road in western Duval County.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the motorcyclist was riding north on Acree on a Honda motorcycle at 9:53 p.m. the motorcycle ran off the road and crashed for unknown reasons.
The rider, who has not been named, was transported to UF Health at Jacksonville Fire-Rescue, where hospital officials said the man was likely to recover.
JSO said the rider was the only one involved in the wreck and no one else was hurt.

Monday, December 30, 2013Fremont police reopened a major intersection nearly six hours after a vehicle killed a woman and injured two others on Tuesday evening.
Officers responded to a report of an injury vehicle collision at Paseo Padre Parkway and Mowry Avenue around 9:55 p.m., police said.
A 19-year-old woman, who was holding a 3-month-old boy, and 17-year-old girl were walking west across Paseo Padre Parkway when they were struck by a vehicle south past Mowry Avenue, according to police.
The driver was a 64-year-old man who cooperated with officers, according to police.

Monday, December 30, 2013A 17-year-old was seriously hurt after a Tuesday afternoon crash on slick roads. It happened around 3:40 p.m. on M-89 near 46th Street in Ross Township, according to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff's Department. The 17-year-old male driver from Augusta was headed west on M-89 when he lost control on the slushy roads. His car slid, crossed the center line, and was hit on the passenger's side by an eastbound vehicle. The 17-year-old was taken to Borgess Hospital and was listed in serious condition Tuesday evening. The 55-year-old driver of Tecumseh was treated at the scene and released.

South Bend-Elkhart, INA 12-year-old was killed early Tuesday when a 14-year-old driver crashed a car in Cass County.
It happened just after 2 a.m. on Bertrand Street just east of 21st Street in Milton Township, according to the Cass County Sheriff's Department.
The vehicle involved in the crash was headed east when 14-year-old driver Brandon Zachary Burr of Niles lost control. The car hit a tree, Cass County sheriff's officials said.
Passenger Adrian Matthew Chiquito, 12, of Niles, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brandon was hurt taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Atlanta, GAAn overturned tanker truck on Buford Highway snarled traffic in DeKalb County on Tuesday.
The tanker overturned on the ramp from Interstate 285 eastbound to Buford Highway around 5 p.m.
As of 10 p.m., all lanes on the ramp were blocked and southbound traffic on Buford Highway was being diverted through the left turn lane.
Crews worked to transfer the tanker's 8,500 gallons of fuel into other vehicles.

Monday, December 30, 2013San Francisco police say an elderly pedestrian was struck and killed in an intersection in the city’s Crocker Amazon neighborhood Tuesday afternoon.
Police said the man was hit by a car at the intersection of Rolph and Naples around 3:30 p.m. and later died from his injuries at San Francisco General Hospital.
The circumstances of the crash are still under investigation. A spokesman said the driver is cooperating with police.
This is the second time a vehicle has killed a pedestrian in San Francisco this week.
