A young girl died and two people were injured after being struck by a car while crossing a street in San Francisco's Tenderloin neighborhood on New Year's Eve, a San Francisco police officer said.

Officers responded to a report of an injury vehicle collision at Paseo Padre Parkway and Mowry Avenue around 9:55 p.m., police said.
A 19-year-old woman, who was holding a 3-month-old boy, and 17-year-old girl were walking west across Paseo Padre Parkway when they were struck by a vehicle south past Mowry Avenue, according to police.
The driver was a 64-year-old man who cooperated with officers, according to police.
Alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor at this time, police said.
The 19-year-old woman was transported and succumbed to her injuries, police said.
The 3-month-old boy was also transported for life threatening injuries and the 17-year-old girl was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.
The intersection was reopened shortly before 4 a.m. and police are investigating the collision.
