Man critically injured when his motorcycle leaves Acree Road and crashes near Jacksonville, Florida

A man while riding his motorcycle Tuesday night was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after crashing on Acree Road in western Duval County. The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office says the motorcyclist was riding north on Acree on a Honda motorcycle at 9:53 p.m. the motorcycle ran off the road and crashed for unknown reasons. The rider, who has not been named, was transported to UF Health at Jacksonville Fire-Rescue, where hospital officials said the man was likely to recover. JSO said the rider was the only one involved in the wreck and no one else was hurt. Acree Road was closed while traffic homicide detectives conducted an investigation.
