The accident occurred around 7:19 a.m. this morning on the New Jersey Turnpike near mile marker 102.6 in Elizabeth. A Toyota RAV4 driven by Jinkui He, 48 of Philadelphia, crossed into the outer roadway into the path of a Ford van driving north. The driver of the van was unable to stop in time to avoid hitting the rear of Mr. He’s vehicle, which then struck a guardrail. The van was also hit by a car from behind. No physical injuries were observed on He but the man was unconscious and not breathing when police arrived.

One male passenger killed, driver injured, in car accident on the New Jersey Turnpike in the truck lanes in Woodbridge, NJ when a car collided with a tractor-trailer.  The driver of the car was transported to the hospital.

Utility truck driver Robert L. Cookinham, 49, has been identified as the man killed in a three-truck collision on the New Jersey Turnpike in Woolwich Township, New Jersey Monday. Cookinham was southbounf near mile marker 11 when hisutility truck hit with a tractor trailer that had overturned after being rear ended by another truck.  The tractor trailer driver was unharmed, and the pickup truck driver was treated for minor injuries in Salem County.

Nour Qudsi, 15, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to Sgt. Jeff Flynn of the State Police. Ayah Qudsi, 12, and two adults, Dunia Qudsi and Wisam Awwad, were rushed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where they are listed in critical condition.   A GoFundMe page has been set up for the Qudsi family.

One man was killed and three people were injured when a car struck a concrete barrier on the New Jersey Turnpike in Newark early this morning.

The man, a passenger in the car, was ejected when the car lost control and hit a barrier while traveling northbound in the truck lanes, State Police said. Another man in the car suffered a severe neck injury, and two women in the car were also injured.

The woman driving the car was charged with driving while intoxicated, police said. Police have not yet identified anyone involved in the accident.

A Rosenhayn man was pronounced dead at the scene of an early morning accident Sunday involving a tractor-trailer and a van on the N.J. Turnpike, a state trooper said. The accident in the northbound outer truck lane occurred near mile marker 96 at 1:40 a.m., he said. An investigation is continuing.

John Visconti III, 48, was driving a 1997 Peterbilt tractor-trailer, when it struck a 2001 GMC Safari van that was driving below the speed limit in the right lane, police said.

State police say a tractor-trailer struck and killed a Florida man who was standing on the New Jersey Turnpike. The accident occurred around 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in the northbound express lanes in Englewood. Authorities say 60-year-old Izhak Shvarz, of Lake Mary, Fla., was standing next to his vehicle and was partially in the right lane when he was hit by the truck. No tickets have been issued and the accident remains under investigation.

One lane is now getting by on the New Jersey Turnpike after a car-carrier truck accident that injured two people.

Officials say a box truck and a car-carrier truck collided on the Turnpike in Mount Laurel, New Jersey early Monday evening.

Officials say at least two people were hurt in the crash though they have not yet revealed how serious their injuries are

Only one southbound lane is getting by near mile-marker 36 on the Turnpike as officials continue to investigate.

Commuters in the Garden State faced a nightmare morning commute after a major accident shut down the northbound lanes of the New Jersey Turnpike early Wednesday.

A tractor-trailer jackknifed just north of Exit 8, near the Molly Pitcher Service Area, in Cranbury just before 6 a.m. Another vehicle was also flipped onto its side next behind the truck's cab, and a second tractor-trailer was involved in the crash.

An accident in New Jersey is causing major rush hour delays at the Lincoln Tunnel heading out of New York City.

The accident occurred Thursday afternoon on the southbound eastern spur of the New Jersey Turnpike at Exit 15X in Secaucus.

The accident has been cleared, but there are heavy residual delays of at least one hour at the tunnel.

Traffic backed up along the Turnpike all the way along Route 495, and resulted in gridlock at the approaches to the tunnel.

The West Side Highway south was also brought to a standstill from 96th Street down to 42nd Street.
