A single vehicle crash on Highway 29 north of Red Hills Road has claimed the lives of two Clearlake men, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Jarried Ray Meyer, 22, and Dallas Dalton Schell, 20, died in the wreck, which occurred at approximately 4:50 a.m. Tuesday, according to the report from a CHP Officer.

A driver who crashed into several parked vehicles in North Berkeley, then fled the scene as his car burned, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit and run just after 9:30 Saturday morning, authorities said. Authorities identified the driver as Geoffrey Cronin, 42, of Berkeley. Cronin was arrested last year in connection with a knife assault and police chase in Berkeley in August.

Cornerback Chris Culliver of the San Francisco 49ers was arrested Friday in San Jose on hit-and-run and and weapons possession, according to San Jose Police.

A Police spokesman stated that police received a 911 call about the collision at 10:21 a.m. Culliver, driving a White Ford Mustang, hit and injured a bicyclist near the intersection of Tully Road and South 7th St. in San Jose, according to Morales.

Culliver fled the scene, hitting another car in the process and was followed by the driver of the car who was hit, Morales said.

Seven people were injured following a two-vehicle crash in San Francisco early Wednesday morning, at the intersection of Geary Boulevard and Van Ness Avenue.

Police said it happened about 12:30 a.m., with the impact of the collision knocking out a signal light on Van Ness, and for a time, blocking traffic in both directions.

According to initial reports, it appears one of the vehicles crossed the center divide on Van Ness and hit the other vehicle.

Police were investigating a fatal DUI crash between a vehicle and a motorcyclist in Fremont Tuesday morning. Officers responded to the collision on Fremont Boulevard and Decoto Road, police said. The motorcyclist, later identified as Andrew Silva, 23, a U.S. Marine, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Alcohol appears to be factor in the crash and the driver of the vehicle, identified by police as 23-year-old Alexander Yohn of Emeryville, was arrested.

A car hit a bicyclist who was possibly under the influence of alcohol while riding outside Golden Gate Park in San Francisco on Sunday afternoon.

Officers responded to a report of a collision between a vehicle and bicyclist at Great Highway and Lincoln Avenue around 3:50 p.m., police said.

The bicyclist entered the crosswalk while the red light was on and was struck by the vehicle, according to police.

The bicyclist, a man in his 30s, sustained a head injury, police said.

He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital for treatment, according to police.

An 89-year-old San Jose woman died Saturday from head injuries after a bicyclist collided with her in a walkway on the campus of San Jose State University early Thursday, authorities said Thursday.

The woman was identified as Ching-Tsun Nee, who died of cranial cerebral injuries when she hit her head on the ground after the bicyclist struck her, according to the Santa Clara County medical examiner’s office.

Police are investigating a fatal car crash in San Leandro that happened on Saturday night, a police lieutenant said. Officers responded to the head-on collision involving two cars on East 14th Street between Davis and Chumalia streets around 10:45 p.m., police said. One of the drivers was pronounced dead at the scene, he said. Two people were transported for their injuries, police said. One of the two people injured was a passenger who is listed in critical condition, according to police.

A man who rammed into Santa Clara County Sheriff’s patrol cars and fled into the woods was arrested in unincorporated Santa Clara County on Saturday morning, a sheriff’s spokesman said. Deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the 6600 block of Croy Road around 5:30 a.m., police said. When deputies arrived on scene they found the suspicious vehicle parked at a home on Esther Lake Drive, police said. The suspect drove the vehicle into three patrol cars multiple times as deputies were getting out, he said.

A woman in her 60s who was using a crosswalk in San Francisco's Visitacion Valley neighborhood was struck and killed Thursday by an SUV driver who circled back to look at the fallen victim before speeding away, police said. The hit-and-run at 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Visitacion Avenue and Bayshore Boulevard marked the city's sixth pedestrian fatality of the year and 12th since December, a run of bloodshed that has put a spotlight on a longtime problem and prompted calls for more aggressive action.
