A 5-year-old boy was injured when a vehicle struck him in Pacifica on Friday afternoon, police said.
At about 12:30 p.m., officers responded to a report that a vehicle had struck a pedestrian in the 1100 block of Rosita Road.
Officers responded to the scene, located in a residential neighborhood, and discovered an injured 5-year-old boy in the roadway, police said.
The boy was transported to a nearby hospital with major injuries not considered life-threatening, according to police.
A vehicle in San Francisco’s South of Market district fatally struck a pedestrian early Sunday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
At about 2:35 a.m. the CHP received a report of a pedestrian who had been struck near the Fourth Street on-ramp to westbound Interstate Highway 80, the CHP said.
The pedestrian died at the scene and the driver of the vehicle cooperated with the investigation, according to the CHP.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation and the name of the deceased pedestrian has not yet been released, the CHP said.
Part of state Highway 29 in Napa was reopened Saturday morning after an injury crash blocked both traffic in both directions of the roadway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. on Highway 29 at Whitehall Lane, the CHP was reporting.
A driver in a red jeep struck a tree and reportedly became pinned beneath the car’s steering wheel, according to the CHP.
The crash caused the car to catch fire, which a passerby used a fire extinguisher to put out, according to the CHP.
