It was just before 12:00 a.m. when a 26-year-old man was driving at an excessive speed southbound on I-5, and collided with another vehicle. No one was injured in that accident, but then the man got out of his vehicle and attempted to run across the northbound lanes of the freeway. He was struck by a northbound vehicle, which rolled over, and was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. Those in the vehicle that struck the man were also uninjured.
