Carlos A. Nando-Hernandez, 29, was driving west on Trent in the left lane in a 2006 Ford F150 when he hit Weathers, who was in his wheelchair. It is not clear where Weathers was or whether he was trying to cross the road when he was hit by the truck. Authorities responding to the accident found him in the left lane of Trent’s two westbound lanes. After hitting Weathers, the pickup truck skidded to the right then stopped off the right side of the road.

Police said Jason Woodyard was speeding Sept. 29 when he lost control of his rig in the northbound lanes on Interstate 75 and caused the death of 22-year-old Zachary Byrd.

Woodyard couldn't stop and hit two vehicles that were stopped near Mitchell Avenue after a minor crash, police said.

Byrd was a passenger in one of the stopped vehicles. He died from injuries at the scene.

Two other motorists were critically injured.

Kenneth L. Jones, 29, allegedly was under the influence of the drug Clonazepam when he drove his 1995 Honda Accord off the highway around 8:40 p.m. between Mileposts 7 and 8, about a mile west of the 164th Avenue exit. The vehicle rolled and landed upside down, killing Alexander, 46, who was a passenger in the vehicle, and pinning Jones in the driver’s seat, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in court. Jones faces charges of vehicular homicide and driving under the influence at his Oct. 11 arraignment.

Authorities said the driver was traveling at a high rate of speed when his vehicle struck a pole and broke into three pieces. Both men in the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. A 26-year-old Auburn man is under investigation for vehicular assault after two passengers in his car were injured in a collision on Interstate 5 just south of South 272nd Street. Washington State Patrol troopers say the driver was likely speeding and under the influence of intoxicants when he lost control of the 2007 White Nissan Maxima he was driving. The car left the roadway, spun around and slammed into the guardrail at 3:42 Sunday morning. Patrol officers said the driver and a 50-year-old female passenger were transported to Highline Community Hospital.

A Bellingham woman was killed and her passenger was injured in a two-car crash this morning north of Bellingham. Inna Reva, 20, died at the scene of the accident, which occurred at about 10 a.m. at the intersection of Hannegan and Van Wyck roads. Her passenger, Leonid Shintar, 42, of Bellingham, was taken to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center with injuries. He was not wearing a seat belt. The driver of the other car, a 27-year-old woman, was not injured.
