A 26-year-old Auburn man is under investigation for vehicular assault after two passengers in his car were injured in a collision on Interstate 5 just south of South 272nd Street.

A 26-year-old Auburn man is under investigation for vehicular assault after two passengers in his car were injured in a collision on Interstate 5 just south of South 272nd Street. Washington State Patrol troopers say the driver was likely speeding and under the influence of intoxicants when he lost control of the 2007 White Nissan Maxima he was driving. The car left the roadway, spun around and slammed into the guardrail at 3:42 Sunday morning. Patrol officers said the driver and a 50-year-old female passenger were transported to Highline Community Hospital.
