The names of victims in a Friday evening crash that killed one and injured two on Interstate 40 at Campbell Station were released Sataurday.
The driver, Claudia Vazquez, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene, and passengers Maria Estrada, 40, and Ofelia Guichapa, 56, were injured, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
Their vehicle was heading eastbound on Interstate 40 in the right lane at 5:30 p.m. when it veered off the roadway to the right and struck an embankment, according to the THP report. The vehicle was overturned and all three occupants were ejected.
Three people were injured in a the crash of a SUV in the Town of Murray Friday night, Orleans County Sheriff’s deputies said.
Listed in guarded condition is Scott A. Kuhn, 40, of Holley, who was driving east on Lynch Road about 7 p.m., when he apparently lost control of the SUV and went off the south side of the road, down a slight embankment and flipped over before striking a tree.
Kuhn was trapped in the wreckage for more than two hours before being freed by volunteer firefighters. He was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester by Mercy Flight.
Authorities continued to investigate Saturday after a man who led police on a high-speed pursuit through Los Angeles for more than an hour Friday night died after he crashed into another car and was shot by police.
The chase began before 9:30 p.m. as sheriff's deputies pursued the silver Corvette for reckless driving, officials said.
Deputies abandoned the chase and left a helicopter over the car as it sped through surface streets near Huntington Park in Cudahy. Minutes later, CHP officers began pursuing the driver as it drove with it lights off through neighborhoods.

An 80-year-old man died Friday after he was struck by a van in the Lake View neighborhood Thursday morning on the North Side.
Witnesses told police Jamie Ramirez ran into traffic against the traffic signal, not at a cross walk, about 8:45 a.m. Thursday in the 3000 block of North Ashland Avenue, according to police and the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
A 50-year-old man driving northbound on Ashland in a 2006 Kia van attempted to stop the vehicle, but didn’t, and struck the pedestrian, police said. The driver, who was the only person in the car, was not injured.
At 12:38 p.m. Friday, Corrine McLaud, 81, of Dustin was driving west on State Highway 84 near Weleetka when her car ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree.
McLaud was taken in critical condition to Henryetta Medical Center in Henryetta. She died at about 6 p.m. from injuries she sustained in the crash, troopers said.
Shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, Anika Miles, 41, of Tulsa was driving west in the wrong lane of N 76th Street in Tulsa when his vehicle crashed into a pickup driven by Beau Wells, of Owasso.
Miles was pronounced dead at the scene, and Wells was taken to St. John Hospital in Tulsa in critical condition with internal injuries.
About 9:45 p.m. Friday, James Betchan, 70, of Covington was headed north on Interstate 35 just north of Perry when his Dodge S250 ran off the roadway and into a ditch, according to the troopers.
Betchan was pronounced dead at the scene due to a previous medical condition, which troopers said caused the crash. No one else was injured in the crash.
Rescue crews are on scene of an accident involving a truck and a car Friday night that left three people injured.
It happened at 8:15 p.m. at Bethlehem Pike and Lenhart Road in Hatfield, Montgomery County.
One person was medevaced to the hospital. Two others were taken by medics. The conditions of the victims are unknown at this time.
The accident remains under investigation.
Three lanes of westbound Interstate 580 have been reopened near the I-680 interchange in Dublin in the wake of a Friday morning injury crash and diesel fuel spill, authorities said.
The crash was reported shortly before 9 a.m. when a big rig collided with a BMW, causing the truck to jackknife, according to the California Highway Patrol. At least one injury was reported.
All but one westbound lane of I-580 east of I-680 were initially closed while crews handled the crash.
