Washington, DCA Chambersburg woman died in a head-on collision along the southbound lanes of Interstate 81 this morning in Southampton Township, Franklin County, state police said.
The victim was identified as Ashley D. Brechbiel, 26, no address given, according to police.
Troopers said Brechbiel was traveling north on Interstate 81 just after 2 a.m. in her 1993 Dodge Dakota truck, when she left the roadway, crossed the grassy median and entered the southbound lanes near Exit 24, the exit for Route 696.

Saturday, December 7, 2013A 71-year-old Scranton man died Sunday morning in a crash on I-81 in Foster Township, Schuylkill County, state police at Frackville report.
Garfield Beynon, 71, was a front seat passenger in a Ford Explorer driven by Jeffrey DelGuercio, 51, of Dickson City, Lackawanna County.
State police said DelGuercio lost control and crossed both lanes of I-81 before his SUV hit a guard rail and flipped onto its side. The driver, Beynon and three male juvenile passengers were all wearing seat belts. The operator and juveniles had minor injuries. The accident occurred at 10:44 a.m. at milemarker 114.3.

Wednesday, December 4, 2013The driver of a tractor-trailer that overturned and backed up Interstate 81 near Carlisle Wednesday lost control of the vehicle after choking on some coffee, state police said.
Richard Francis, 61, was driving south on the interstate when he took the offending sip of coffee near Exit 44 at about 3:12 p.m., state police reported. Francis was trying to pull off the roadway onto the right shoulder to settle himself when the vehicle slid into the grass off the shoulder and struck a wire fence, police said.
