The car collided with two parked cars before hitting a power pole at North 1st and North Tacoma Ave. The car burst into flames and became totally engulfed. A seven-year-old boy has been airlifted to Harborview Medical Center after being struck by a bus Thursday. The boy was a passenger on the bus and got off at Lummi Shore Drive near Ferndale. The boy crossed the street in front of the bus as the driver pulled away. The vehicle then rolled forward and over the boy. There is no word yet on the extent of the boy's injuries.

The Washington State Patrol has identified the woman killed in a Tuesday night accident on state Highway 2 about four miles north of Spokane. Dorothy J. Ryan, 47, of Spokane was walking in the highway’s northbound lane at 8:20 p.m. when she was hit by 2002 Ford Focus driven by Sara M. Babcock, 20, of Chattaroy. A news release from the WSP said Ryan was intoxicated. She was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, the release said. Babcock, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

Officers said two Cadillacs were racing on North Foothills Drive east of Division when one of them rammed into a Pathfinder Sunday afternoon. The woman driving the Pathfinder said she was only going about 5 miles per hour when the speeding Cadillac hit her car and forced her off the road. Police said the woman who caused the crash initially got out of her car and ran away, but officers caught up to her and arrested her. She was arrested for driving with a suspended license. Police said she also had two warrants out for her arrest.
