The Jackson County Sheriff says a 52-year-old Mobile, Ala. woman has died after hitting a dump truck.

Police stated that the woman, whose name is being withheld until next of kin is notified, was killed after she drove into the opposite lane on Forts Lake Road near Moss Point and hit a dump truck head-on about 8 a.m. Thursday.

The sheriff says deputies believe fog conditions may have been a factor.

The dump truck driver was not injured.

The accident remains under investigation.

A one-car crash kills one person on Highway 43 in Madison County.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol tells us William Blackstock, 42, of Pickens died in the Wednesday afternoon crash.

That crash happened about two miles north of Highway 17, when the car, a gray Toyota Camry, entered a sharp curve.

MHP says the driver ran off the road then over-corrected. That’s what caused the car to go off-road again, flip, and hit a tree.

The driver was killed on the scene. Officials say he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.

Two Olive Branch police officers are considered heroes Friday morning after jumping into a lake to save a woman and her 7-year-old granddaughter from their sinking van.

Those officers took their oath to protect and serve to a whole new level and because of their quick actions a Mid-South family won't have to deal with tragedy right before the Easter holiday.

This accident happened in Olive Branch at a lake in the Maywood subdivision near Maywood Drive and Cedar Hill Lane around 10:15 Thursday night.

A teenage girl is dead and another is recovering at a Jackson hospital after a single car crash this morning on U.S. 49 in Yazoo County around 8:30 Thursday morning.

Mississippi Highway Patrol says 17 year old Jasmand Johnson died at the scene. MHP says another student, 19 year old Latoya Goins, was pulled out of the car by a witness as it began to catch fire.

Mississippi authorities are searching for the driver in a hit-and-run accident resulted in the death of a Gordo man early Sunday. Mississippi Highway Patrol officers believe that Cason Park, 25, had experienced car trouble and was walking on the side of U.S. Highway 82 at when he was struck, said police. The driver left the scene, which happened at 4 a.m. in Oktibbeha County. Officers found a disabled Chevrolet Impala registered to one of Park's family members about a quarter mile west from the site of the accident, police said.

The identity of the pedestrian who was killed Saturday afternoon when she was struck by an 18-wheeler on Interstate 59 has been released.

The Forrest County Deputy Coroner stated that the victim was 59-year-old Carmen Corey of McLain.

A Hattiesburg Police spokesman said officers received a call at 4:50 p.m. reporting that a pedestrian had been stuck by an 18-wheeler traveling south on Interstate 59.

Traxler said officers found Corey dead at the scene.

A 63-year-old Saucier man was killed in an early morning accident in Harrison County. It happened around 6am in the southbound lanes of Highway 67 at Tradition Parkway.

The Harrison County Coroner identified the victim as Arthur Barnes, Jr. He said the victim's SUV was struck from behind by another vehicle. The SUV flipped several times, and Barnes was not wearing a seatbelt.

Hargrove said Barnes's wife said he had a lawn maintenance business and was on his way to work when the accident occurred.

An Ocean Springs woman is lucky to be unharmed after a driver lost control of his car and drove straight into her home. Kallie Kennedy stated that she was standing on her porch when she heard a sliding sound. She then noticed an Altima heading straight towards her. "I jumped out of the way because it wasn't stopping and it ran straight into my living room through my house."

A man struck by a vehicle on Interstate 55 in Byram on Sunday has been identified as a 51-year-old Pearl resident.

Russell Lloyd Conley was fatally injured when he was hit by a truck as he walked on I-55 around 3:15 a.m. Sunday.

Police say the accident occurred in the construction area where there are no emergency lanes. Police believe Conley may have been walking to get gas for his vehicle, which was disabled on Siwell Road.

The driver of the truck that struck Conley faces no charges.
