Two people were injured -- one critically -- and the lanes of the Chinatown feeder ramp on Interstate 90/94 were closed Friday morning after a vehicle rolled over.

The single-vehicle crash was reported about 4:10 a.m., according to Illinois State Police.

The driver of the vehicle, a woman whose age was not immediately known, was taken in critical condition to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

A female passenger in the vehicle was taken with non-life-threatening injuries to John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, police said.

Multiple people were injured in a crash involving a tanker truck Thursday morning on Interstate 394 near south suburban Crete.

The crash involving a tanker truck and a passenger vehicle happened about 7 a.m. in the southbound lanes of the interstate near Burville Road, according to the Illinois State Police.

Police said there were injures in the crash, but further details were not immediately available.

I-394 is closed south of Exchange Avenue, and no traffic is allowed on Burville Road between the interstate and Cottage Grove Avenue, police said.

A head-on collision occurred on Illinois 156 east of Waterloo when a vehicle swerved into the opposite lane and smashed into an oncoming vehicle on Thursday.

Authorities say two people, a man and a woman, were involved in the accident. Both were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

It was reported the male driver suffered a serious head injury and the woman broke her ankle. It is not believed either injury is life threatening.

Police say it is still unclear what caused the car to swerve into the opposite lane.

The investigation is on-going.

Multiple people were injured in a crash in the West Side Humboldt Park neighborhood Wednesday morning.

The multi-vehicle crash happened about 8:10 a.m. at West Division and North Mozart streets, a police News Affairs Officer said.

Multiple people suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to local hospitals, police said, though further details were not immediately available.

Traffic is disrupted west of the crash on Division, police said.

A man suffered minor injuries after an SUV and a taxi collided downtown late Monday night.

A taxi driver was southbound on Michigan Avenue about 11 p.m. when his car collided with a 2004 Ford Escape going east on Monroe Street, a police News Affairs Officer said.

The SUV was rolled onto its side after the crash as police investigated.

The 49-year-old man driving the cab was treated and released from Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said. The Ford’s driver, a 50-year-old woman, refused medical attention.

Two police officers were taken to a hospital early Saturday after their SUV slid on ice and slammed into a tree on the South Side.

The officers were responding to an assist call about 1:40 a.m. when the SUV slipped on ice in the 500 block of West 79th Street, a police News Affairs Officer said.

The driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a tree, Greer said.

The two officers in the SUV were taken in good condition to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn for precautionary observations and were later released, police said.

The outbound Bishop Ford was shut down following a police chase that apparently ended with an arrest on the highway. A photo posted on Facebook shows officers standing by a squad car and putting a suspect in the back seat. The arrest happened near 115th street. Witnesses report that officers are searching the Pullman neighborhood on foot with dogs, apparently searching for another suspect. The chase was started by Calumet City Police, according to Illinois State Police, after they were notified that the vehicle involved was believed to be stolen in Chicago.

At least 20 vehicles were involved in a crash that shut down northbound I-57 near Peotone between Manhattan-Monee Road and Wilmington-Peotone Road, officials said.

Several semis are involved, Illinois State Police said, and one vehicle may be trapped underneath a semi. Emergency crews brought in extrication equipment and requested heavy cranes.

Officials have not said what caused the crash, but low visibility was reported through the Chicago area on Thursday afternoon.

An Amtrak train struck a vehicle near Harlem Avenue on the border of west suburban Riverside and Berwyn on Thursday, delaying Metra BNSF line trains. The Amtrak train was running on the BNSF tracks when it hit a vehicle near Harlem Avenue about 2:30 p.m., Metra spokesman Michael Gillis said. Metra’s BNSF line trains between Chicago and Aurora use those same tracks, and were temporarily stopped, the rail agency said. The crash happened near the Harlem Metra station in Riverside.

A semi truck slammed into a home in Cahokia Wednesday morning. Authorities say the driver of the truck was traveling in the area of Rte. 3 and E. 5th St. around 8:15 a.m. when he lost control and crashed into the house. The truck also crashed into utility poles, leaving about 1,300 people in the area without power. Ameren Illinois officials say they hoped to have the power restored by Wednesday evening. No injuries were reported. The extent of the damage to the house was not immediately known.
