A motorcyclist was killed in a crash late Sunday on the city’s Near Northside.

John Moore, 31, Indianapolis, died from injuries sustained after his Yamaha dirtbike slid into a 2002 black Chevy Malibu at the intersection of North 30th Street and Ralston Avenue, according to an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department report.

Police were called at about 9 p.m. to the intersection, according to the IMPD report.

Officials say a 55-year-old man was seriously injured Sunday when he crashed his scooter. Police say around 8 p.m. Sunday, they got a call that 55-year-old Glenn Strunk had been in a one vehicle accident on US 231 just north of Spencer. According to a report, Strunk’s scooter left the roadway and crashed into a concrete drainage ditch. Strunk is hospitalized with a severe head injury. The accident is still under investigation.

Police in Gary, Ind., said they might have found the truck involved in a hit-and-run that killed a 13-year-old boy this weekend. Malik Herron was walking with his friend in the 4900 block of Vermont Street Saturday night, when a large, dark-colored vehicle left the road and struck both boys. Herron died, his friend was only slightly hurt.
