A Belleview man, who was walking on railroad tracks as a train barreled toward him, was killed Monday morning, Marion County deputies say.

The deadly crash happened about 11 a.m. as 37-year-old James Bare III was walking south in the middle of the track as a train was moving northbound.

The train conductor told deputies he saw Bare walking on the tracks and sounded the horn several times to try to get the man's attention and warn him to get off the tracks.

A sleepy 14 year old teen is being blamed for a two car crash that results in five injuries

It happened Sunday evening near the intersection of County Road 675 and 136th Terrace East in Parrish. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a 14 year old teen was driving a F-150 pickup truck westbound on CR-675 when he fell asleep and veered into oncoming traffic.

A pedestrian was killed while crossing John Young Parkway Monday night, according to police. Dale Ippolito, 51, was attempting to cross the street without utilizing a crosswalk or intersection when he was struck by a vehicle heading southbound on the interstate. Witnesses say that Ippolito walked directly in front of an SUV heading southbound on the road. Ippolito was taken to the Orlando Regional Medical Center, and the crash is still under investigation.
