Two people are dead after a head-on collision on Highway 35 about two miles south of Stoddard near Riverview Court in the Town of Bergen, according to Vernon County Sheriff John Spears. Sheriff Spears said a northbound vehicle, driven by 70-year-old Robert M. Williams of Stoddard, went to pass a vehicle in front of him and struck a southbound vehicle, driven by 55-year-old Margaret L. Springborn of rural DeSoto. The crash happened at about 3:20 p.m. Springborn was transported to Gundersen Health System in La Crosse where she was later pronounced dead.

A 70-year-old woman was seriously hurt after she was hit by a car while crossing Maple Road in Amherst. The accident happened around 9:00 a.m. Investigators say Suzanne Martin was crossing Maple Road and was struck by a car driven by William F. Algeri, 77. Martin was taken to ECMC with head and leg injuries.

Police have identified the 81-year-old man who was seriously injured in a crash on Highway 20 near Lebanon Thursday afternoon. Samuel Slaughter of Sweet Home suffered serious injuries in a crash involving a commercial truck pulling a semi trailer and a car. Oregon State Police said at about 1 p.m. a commercial truck pulling a semi-trailer stopped on westbound Highway 20 to wait for train to pass by so the driver could turn into a driveway.

An adult bicyclist, later identified as Neil Kelty, 23, was killed this morning after being struck by a school bus on the Northside. The crash was reported at Westlane and Ditch roads shortly before 7:30 a.m., just north of Westlane Middle School, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police. The Indianapolis Public Schools bus was operated Bessie Smith, 72, Indianapolis, a driver with Durham School Services, police said. No children were on the bus, according to IMPD Sgt. Kendale Adams.

The Kansas Highway Patrol says a county commissioner from western Kansas died when his plane crashed while he was crop dusting. The patrol says 67-year-old Don Cates, a Barton County commissioner from Claflin, died Tuesday afternoon when his ultralight, single-engine plane hit a power line and crashed into a ditch just northwest of Garfield in Pawnee County. Cates was the only person on board. Cates joined the Barton County Commission in 2010.

Police in Cobb County were investigating the death of a woman after a crash in a church parking lot. 68-year-old Katie O. Palmer died in Sunday morning wreck at Milford Baptist Church in Marietta. Authorities say Palmer was in a 1992 Mercury Sable that began “backing rapidly” through the parking lot and crashed into a concrete wall. Witnesses told authorities Palmer was slumped over the wheel before the 10:50 a.m. wreck. Palmer was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. The Cobb County Medical Examiner’s Office is working with police to determine how she died.

Two people are dead following a chain-reaction crash involving a school bus. The crash happened on Dunn Avenue and New Kings Road. The Florida Highway Patrol said a school bus with 14 students from Dinsmore Elementary School stopped with its lights flashing, dropping kids off. A black car and white SUV were stopped behind the bus. FHP said a semi truck driver didn't see the stopped cars in time to stop. He swerved to try to avoid the crash but couldn't. Four children were taken to UF Health, as well as the school bus driver.

Kentucky State Police are investigating an accident near Lebanon, Kentucky which left one woman dead Sunday morning. Police say 62-year-old Ann Mattingly was traveling east on KY 84 when she lost control of her vehicle just before 10 a.m. They say Mattingly dropped off the shoulder, over-corrected, leaving the roadway striking a tree. Mattingly was pronounced dead on the scene. There were no other injuries reported.

Police say a 75-year-old woman is dead after a fatal crash car crash in Newark. Newark Police say it happened Friday evening at about 10:15 on Library Avenue just north of Farm Lane. Police say a preliminary investigation found that a 75-year-old Dorothy Hershman of Newark was driving southbound on Library Avenue when for an unknown reason she crossed the road's center line and ran head-on into a car traveling northbound. Hershman was taken to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Two drivers died when a 91-year-old man driving the wrong way on Interstate 75 near the Florida-Georgia border late Friday night stuck an SUV and a Greyhound bus. Troopers said a 91-year-old driver was diving south in the northbound lanes when they ran head-on into the bus and a Ford Expedition at mile marker 449, about 10 miles south of Jasper in Hamilton County. The car's driver, Ernest Lee Holmes, 91, from High Springs, Florida was killed in the accident, according to the FHP report. Peter Linek, 55, of Ormond Beach, who was driving the SUV also died.
