Louisville, KYAn ambulance responding to an emergency call was involved in an accident just east of Downtown Louisville Monday afternoon that killed one person.
The accident happened at the intersection of Frankfort Avenue and River Road. Police said the ambulance carrying two medical personnel was traveling east on River Road when it smashed into a Geo Metro.

San Antonio, TXA woman being transported to a hospital in an ambulance that was T-boned by a car Friday has died.
The Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed Saturday that Jessie Lucear, 72, died shortly after the crash, which happened just before 11 a.m. on North Loop 1604 West and Shaenfield Road.
It was unclear exactly what role the collision played in Lucear's death, if any.
The ambulance was making a left turn at a green traffic light onto Shaenfield Road from Loop 1604.
