​At 10 a.m. in downtown Columbus, a pickup ran a red light and crashed into a Groveport Madison school bus, causing the bus to jump a curb and hit two pedestrians.  The pickup may have had a flat tire, according to witnesses. One female pedestrian was killed in the accident, and a male pedestrian was brought to Grant Medical Center where he is in critical condition. The pickup driver was taken to Mount Carmel West hospital, and his female passenger was taken to Grant in critical condition. The bus driver was also taken to Grant.

Two teens were injured when a school bus they were riding drove off a road, striking a tree. The accident reportedly occured near Dagget Road and Tamarack Road, northwest of Howard City. The exact conditions of the students have not been released, but the injuries were not considered life-threatening. The students were an 11th-grade girl and an 8th-grade boy, and their names have not yet been released. Weather conditions are considered a contributing factor in this accident.

A Union County school bus driver died Monday after a collision with a garbage truck in Waxhaw. The crash occurred around 3 p.m. on New Town Road near Waxhaw Indian Trail Road when the driver of the garbage truck crossed the center line on a curve and collided with bus #334 head-on.  The driver of the bus, Timothy Jerome McManus, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. McManus had worked for the school district for three years. The driver of the garbage truck was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. No children were on board the bus at the time of the crash.

Demps Christian Child Care day care bus was involved in an accident that injured one child. The van had one adult and nine children in it at the time of the crash. No one in the van was injured, but a child from the other vehicle involved in the crash sustained non-life threatening injuries. More information pending.

A school bus accident occured at the intersection of 30th Street and Hornet Drive at around 2:30 pm. Several children were taken to the hospital by ambulance or by parents as a precautionary measure. A second bus came to take the uninjured students home. The investigation is ongoing. Little information is currently available.

The Daviess County Sheriff's Office says that Morris Stewart, 44, of Owensboro, was hit and killed by an Ohio County school bus, and was pronounced deceased at the scene by the coroner's office. Stewart walked into the direct path of an Ohio County school bus on the Wendell Ford Expressway. Witnesses reported that the bus was unable to avoid the crash. No one else was injured in the collision.

Three people were killed around 9 am Saturday morning on US 30, near the village of Minerva. after a car and school bus crashed during freezing weather near Minerva. 16-year-old Savannah Russell lost control of her vehicle on the icy road and struck a school bus. Russell was pronounced dead at the crash scene. Storm Angione, 19 of Paris, Ohio and A'llyia Hancock, 18 of Minerva were in the vehicle with Russell. Angione and Hancock were also pronounced dead at the site. The school bus driver suffered minor injuries, but luckily no students on the bus were injured.

Two buses crashed on Highway 26 when one bus stopped to let off children and the bus traveling behind it rear-ended it. As many as 30 children were injured in the crash. At least some of the injuries are reported to be serious. The cause of the crash is not currently known. More information posted as it is released.

A car being pursued by Robeson County deputies crashed into a school bus, killing the four people in the car in Lumberton Monday morning at about 10:15 in the 2900 block of Wire Grass Road, south of Lumberton. No students were on the Fairmont High School bus. The people in the car were suspects in a breaking-and-entering case. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

John Lutsch had stopped the bus in the left turn lane on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway when he started to back up. The end of the bus collided with the front of a pickup that was also in the lane. Lutsch said he did not see the pickup, and was trying to get out of the turn lane. The driver of the pickup, Thomas Mitchell, suffered minor injuries, and there were no children on the school bus at the time.
