School bus driver cited in crash

A Clay County school bus driver was ticketed for improper backing after hitting a Ford pickup on Friday.

John Lutsch had stopped the bus in the left turn lane on Oakleaf Plantation Parkway when he started to back up. The end of the bus collided with the front of a pickup that was also in the lane. Lutsch said he did not see the pickup, and was trying to get out of the turn lane. The driver of the pickup, Thomas Mitchell, suffered minor injuries, and there were no children on the school bus at the time.
