SC Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash at approximately 4:30 December 31 at the intersection of Highway 178 and Fairview Road. A Honda heading north on Fairview Road ran a stop sign and was hit by a tractor-trailer traveling on Highway 178. The driver of the Honda was pronounced deceased at the crash site.  The victim is identified as Andy Anderson, 29, of Monetta, South Carolina. The accident is currently under investigation.

Two people were killed in a car accident early Wednesday morning on Old River Road in Vancleave, and two others were transported to a local hospital with critical injuries. The 2001 silver Pontiac Grand Am crashed into a tree around 1:15am. No one in the vehicle was wearing a seatbelt.  Edward Dean Parnel, 47, of Vancleave and Brian Matthew Walls, 40, of Escatawpa, both died at the scene. Robert Asa Vice, Jr., 40, and Kelley Burroughs, 27, both from Helena, are hospitalized in critical condition. Vice was driving the vehicle when it crashed, according to authorities.

A police helicopter reportedly crashed on a residential street in Las Vegas, injuring two officers that were riding inside. The officers were taken to a local medical center with non-life threatening injuries. No one else was injured in the crash. Investigators are not sure what caused the accident. This incident is still under investigation.

Larhonda Cambrielle Brown was driving on U.S. 231 when her vehicle collided head-on with a tractor-trailer. She and her two children were taken to an area medical center with they all died of their injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured. The accident is still under investigation.

A track carrying an estimated 11,000 live juvenile salmon crashed on Route 126, spilling and resulting in the death of the fish and injuring the driver's shoulder. The fish were on the way to be released in a river south of Eugene. The driver, Ray C. Lewis, 45, of Umpqua, had a blood-alcohol level more than three times the legal limit at the time of the crash. The incident is still under investigation.

A 26-year-old woman died in a crash on Interstate 90 just before 7 a.m. Wednesday when she fell asleep while driving and her vehicle rolled over. Giselle Naughton, of Seattle, was traveling east about 24 miles west of Ritzville with her boyfriend and three-year-old daughter when she exited the roadway after falling asleep. She was pronounced deceased at the site.

An Orleans County man was killed in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash Wednesday night. Thomas W. Taylor, 53, of Holley, was on the shoulder of Brockport Spencerport Road in Sweden about 11:30 p.m. when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east. He was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased. Taylor was in the area plowing driveways and had a passenger with him. Taylor parked his truck in a driveway and exited the vehicle to locate a customer's address when he was hit. The passenger found Taylor in a ditch.

An Aiken County man whose under the influence of alcohol died January 1, 2015 from injuries he sustained in a New Year's Eve car crash. Terry Sapp, 35, was pronounced deceased at Georgia Regents Medical Center. Sapp was injured in a two-vehicle crash about 10 p.m. Wednesday near the intersection of Assembly Street and Hampton Avenue in Aiken. Sapp was the driver of a 1977 Ford F150 truck traveling east on Hampton when he failed to yield the right of way during turn and was hit by a 2001 Volvo driven by Salina Tyler, also of Aiken.

A deadly crash occurred at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday at the Kansas City Power and Light station at E. 2200 Road in LyCygne. David William Mayfield, of Independence, Mo., was driving a 2005 International truck out of the power plant when the vehicle exited the east side of the road and crashed into a fence. Mayfield wasn’t wearing a seat belt. Check back for more information as it becomes available.

A Cochise County Sheriff's Office helicopter crashed Wednesday night, killing both the pilot and mechanic on board. Their identities have yet to be released. The helicopter was returning to Sierra Vista Airport from Phoenix, where it had some routine maintenance done. The Benson Fire Department located the wreckage around 9:20 p.m.
