A 53-year-old truck driver died Wednesday afternoon in an accident that occurred as he was exiting a Linn County power plant, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

A deadly crash occurred at 1:31 p.m. Wednesday at the Kansas City Power and Light station at E. 2200 Road in LyCygne. David William Mayfield, of Independence, Mo., was driving a 2005 International truck out of the power plant when the vehicle exited the east side of the road and crashed into a fence.
