A driver, identified as Matthew Purifoy, 33, struck another vehicle on Interstate 205 and then exited to Northeast Andresen Road, where he struck and killed a woman at the intersection of NE Andresen Road and Vancouver Mall Drive. The woman, indentified as Anita Walters, 57, died at the scene. The driver crashed his car north of the scene and police took him into custody. Authorities believe he may have been impaired. A 51-year-old man was hospitalized when he was struck by a hit and run driver at 16th St. and Oberlin Road. The vehicle has been described as a dark-colored, possibly green, older SUV, and police are still searching for the suspect. At about 3:00 pm, a man hijacked a woman's car, struck her with it, and fled the scene, which lead police to pursue the man. Eventually, the man crashed the vehicle and was detained, and the woman who was hit was hospitalized, but only sustained non-life threatening injuries.

Shortly before 3:00pm, three girls were walking home from elementary school and were struck by a car in a parking lot that did not stop to render aid. Two of the girls, who were ages 7 and 8, were hospitalized, though with non-life threatening injuries, while the third girl, age 10, was uninjured. Investigators are still searching for the driver responsible for this accident.

Orlan W. Knuth, 35, and Joshua B. Lee, 31, were friends or neighbors who got into a verbal argument at a local bar. As Lee was walking down the shoulder of Highway 2, Knuth struck and killed him with his vehicle, though he claims that he didn't know he hit a person and thought he hit a mailbox post or guardrail. He has been booked into jail for vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.

The two-vehicle collision occured at 10:43 a.m. at Northeast 34th Avenue and 78th Street. One of the drivers, Nicholas P. Weaver, 26, ran from the scene of the crash. He was taken into custody nearby and booked into the Clark County Jail on suspicion of hit-and-run and driving with a suspended license, in addition to an outstanding arrest warrant on a separate driving while suspended charge. Yolanda Garcia Alvarez was struck from behind by a Nissan Maxima while walking on Main Street. She was taken to a local medical center and is reported in stable condition. The man believed to have hit her is identified as 23-year-old Raymundo Juarez Garcia.
