The report stated that Knuth said he went to a nearby Home Depot off of North Division Street looking for Lee, but couldn't find him so he decided to drive home. Knuth said he remembered hitting something while driving home, but thought it was a guardrail or mailbox post, according to documents.

Orlan W. Knuth, 35, and Joshua B. Lee, 31, were friends or neighbors who got into a verbal argument at a local bar. As Lee was walking down the shoulder of Highway 2, Knuth struck and killed him with his vehicle, though he claims that he didn't know he hit a person and thought he hit a mailbox post or guardrail. He has been booked into jail for vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of an accident.
