 A 3-year-old injured when an SUV crashed into the car his mother was driving Monday morning died on Tuesday and police are seeking additional charges against the driver they say is at fault. Isaac Rowell died just before 1 p.m. Tuesday from injuries he got in the crash on Independence Boulevard near Bojangles’ Coliseum just before 9 a.m. on Monday. Isaac’s mother, Silje Grayston, 28, died shortly after the crash.

The accident happened when their vehicle went off the road and crashed into an exit sign while exiting I-85 South. The passenger, Lochard, suffered life threatening injuries and later died. Her baby also died. The driver of the vehicle, Parrish, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte and is listed in critical condition. Two toddlers that were in the backseat of the car were taken to Caromont Regional Medical Center. Both were in car seats during the crash. Accident is still under investigation.

Eleven people are being treated for injuries after a school bus from Rowan County was involved in a crash in south Charlotte on Friday. According to MEDIC, the bus crashed along the 5700 block of Providence Road around 11 a.m. This is near Shalom Park. Eleven people are being treated for injuries. Most of the injuries are considered to be minor. The students were from Rowan County and were on a field trip to the Jewish Community Center (JCC) when the crash occurred. The bus driver backed up the school bus and hit a wall. No one was seriously injured in the crash.

A school bus full of elementary school children was hit by a car in Rowan County Tuesday morning. The crash was reported around 9:45 a.m. on Woodleaf Road in Rowan County just outside of Salisbury near W. Ridge Road. The school bus was bringing back 28 students from Woodleaf Elementary School who had gone to see a play at the Norvell Theater in downtown Salisbury. A car crossed the center line of the road hitting the bus head-on. A second bus full of students was behind the first bus, but it was not involved in the accident.
