Hartford & New Haven, CTFor reasons unknown, Peter Hall, 69, was driving a minivan south in the northbound lanes of I-95 at about 3:30 a.m., when he collided with a pickup truck driven by 43-year-old Hopeton Kerr. Hall was pronounced dead after the crash, while a passenger in Kerr's vehicle, identified as Frank Poppa, 45, sustained serious injuries. Kerr himself had only minor injuries. Investigation into the cause of this accident continues; check back for updates.

Gainesville, FLAt 10:13 p.m. on Wednesday night a woman identified as Margaret Welter, 65, was killed in a head-on crash on U.S. 301 near Hawthorne, FL. Welter was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger northbound on she crashed into a southbound 2006 Chrysler Pacifica driven by 27-year-old Kacey Faircloth of Island Grove near the intersection with Southeast 138th Place. She was declared dead at the scene and Faircloth and her two children, Kaleb Faircloth, 2, and Kendra Faircloth, 3, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol. They are now all in stable condition.
