Woman killed in head-on collision on US 301

It was unclear what led up to the crash, but neither drugs or alcohol appear to be a direct factor, according to the press release.
At 10:13 p.m. on Wednesday night a woman identified as Margaret Welter, 65, was killed in a head-on crash on U.S. 301 near Hawthorne, FL. Welter was driving a 2003 Ford Ranger northbound on she crashed into a southbound 2006 Chrysler Pacifica driven by 27-year-old Kacey Faircloth of Island Grove near the intersection with Southeast 138th Place. She was declared dead at the scene and Faircloth and her two children, Kaleb Faircloth, 2, and Kendra Faircloth, 3, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to Florida Highway Patrol. They are now all in stable condition. It was unclear what led up to the crash, but neither drugs or alcohol appear to be a direct factor, according to the press release.
