Shortly after 12:00pm, Shackelford was trying to turn left off of Fisher Ferry Road when she was hit by a pickup truck driven by Austin Reddick, 24. The collision sent Shackelford to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, while Reddick sustained some injuries but was treated at the scene.

At about 3:30pm, Brown was traveling south on S.C. 28 Bypass when a car driven by an 84-year-old woman that failed to yield was pulling out of a car dealership, right into the path of Brown's vehicle. The two vehicles collided, which sent Brown's vehicle across the median where it crashed head-on with an oncoming SUV. Brown was killed in the accident, but no information about the other people involved is currently available.

A 62-year-old female pedestrian in a Rancho Bernardo crosswalk was hit by a vehicle Wednesday, and she has died of her injuries. Mary Elliott, 62, was crossing Rancho Bernardo Road near Acena Drive at 5:20 p.m. when she was struck by a Toyota sedan driven by a 94-year-old man. Elliott suffered a critical head injury and was taken to a hospital where she underwent emergency surgery but died Saturday night. The name of the elderly driver has not been released.

Bettie Sue Hester Martin of Tuscumbia died when the 2004 Ford Taurus she was driving collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado on Alabama 184 at mile marker three. Martin was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which happened at 6:50 p.m. Monday east of Muscle Shoals. The driver of the Silverado was brought to Huntsville Hospital.

At about 1:15pm, a 79-year-old woman was parking her car on her driveway, but either forgot to set the brake or it malfunctioned, and the car began to roll as she exited it. A nearby 17-year-old boy attempted to help, but both him and the woman were hit by the moving car and were pushed over an embankment on the other side of the road. The boy managed to free himself and sustained only minor injuries, but the woman was trapped beneath the door of the car and required extrication. When she was finally freed she was sent to the hospital with serious injuries and possibly hypothermia.

An elderly Fremont woman was killed in a car accident in Fremont, Nebraska. Phyllis Eichmeier, 82, was driving east on an unnamed city street Friday evening when her car crossed the center line and collided with a westbound car. Eichmeier was transported to a Fremont hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. Police and the Nebraska State Patrol are investigating the cause of the collision.
