Denver, COA trooper with the Colorado State Patrol was seriously injured when a van hit her patrol car while investigating a crash.
Trooper Adeline Roybal was in her patrol car on the left shoulder and median of Interstate 70 near mile marker 292 around 10:45 p.m. Thursday when she was hit by a 1996 Ford van.
The collision was so intense it pushed Roybal’s Crown Victoria and another patrol car into the median.
Roybal suffered serious injuries and was taken to Aurora South Medical Center for treatment.

Salt Lake City, UTA 17-year-old girl was seriously injured Tuesday morning when she collided with the rear end of a school bus on foggy Highway 89/91 in Cache County.
Logan police said the accident report came in at 7:37 a.m. from the area of 800 West and 1700 South.
A girl was driving an Oldsmobile Alero westbound on 800 West and because of dense fog did not see the stop sign at the road’s intersection with the highway. She went into the intersection and collided with the rear of the bus, which was carrying more than a dozen children to Adams Elementary School in Logan, police said.

Portland, ORSix people, including four children, were hospitalized Monday afternoon after a “high speed rear-end collision” in Battle Ground, police said. A westbound Toyota FJ Cruiser reared-ended a GMC Yukon near Southeast Eaton Boulevard and South Grace Boulevard, according to a spokesman for Clark County Fire & Rescue. The crash was reported at 3:44 p.m. During the accident, the Cruiser crumpled the Yukon so badly that it reached the back row of seats, where two children were sitting. Nobody, however, was seriously injured in the crash.

Milwaukee, WIA 24-year-old Lake Mills woman was killed Sunday when her snowmobile hit a patch of open water and slid into trees along a riverbank, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said.
The woman was riding second in a line of six snowmobiles heading south on the frozen river next to N3000 County BB at 4:21 p.m. Sunday. A 26-year-old Sun Prairie man was driving behind her, saw the crash and the open water and jumped off his snowmobile, which also crashed into trees, a news release stated.

Spokane, WAA crash in Coeur d’Alene early Saturday killed a man from Rathdrum.
Joshua T. Means, 39, was driving southbound on Lambert Lane in Coeur d’Alene at 12:18 a.m., according to a news release. Means lost control on the slushy and icy road, driving off the roadway and colliding with a tree. He was not wearing a seat belt.
Means died as a result of his injuries.

San Antonio, TXPolice said early-morning fog may be to blame for an accident that killed a man on the northwest side Saturday.
The incident happened near the intersection of Wurzbach Road and Newcome Drive around 5 a.m.
A man was crossing the street when a female driver struck him with her vehicle, according to the San Antonio Police Department. Paramedics worked to resuscitate the man and, after 15 minutes, were able to find a faint pulse, police said.
The victim was transported to University Hospital were he later died, according to the Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office.

Portland, ORA man was trapped in his pickup after it left the roadway and overturned in a ditch Wednesday morning in Hockinson. The crash was reported at 8:57 a.m. at 17705 N.E. 119th St. Responding firefighters with District 3 had to tear off the door to get the driver out of the truck. The man, whose name was not released, had a shoulder injury but was otherwise OK. A spokesman said the roadways were extremely icy the morning of the accident.

Tuesday, December 10, 2013A 2-month-old child and a pair of adults dodged death when a passing driver clipped their car on an icy road near Klamath Falls on Wednesday and sent both vehicles flying into an irrigation canal, police said.
Howard Kingman, of Sisters, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe north on U.S. 97 around 1:05 p.m. when he tried to pass a Toyota Prius near milepost 264, Oregon State Police said.
The 70-year-old driver lost control on the icy roadway and struck the Prius, which carried Robert Burton, 56, Bree Burton, 20, and her infant son, police said.

Seattle-Tacoma, WAA Grapeview woman was injured Wednesday morning when she lost control of her car on an icy roadway on State Route 3, in Mason County. She refused aid at the scene, according to a release from Washington State Patrol.
Jessica Roswold, 24, was traveling southbound on State Route 3 when she lost control of her black 2006 Jeep Wrangler. She crossed the center line and wound up in the ditch on the northbound side of the highway. The car rolled and came to rest on the passenger side.
According to the release, Roswold was wearing a seat belt.

Monday, December 9, 2013Michigan State Police troopers responded to multiple wrecks on US-131 near Rockford on Tuesday. The slideoffs and wrecks occurred in the northbound lanes just north of 10 Mile Road in Algoma Township. At least six cars went into the ditch, according to Michigan State Police. The crashes occurred because of rapidly forming ice on the pavement. MSP did not have any reports of injuries. The northbound lanes of the highway were shut down for about two hours to clear the crashes.
