A 24-year-old Lake Mills woman was killed Sunday when her snowmobile hit a patch of open water and slid into trees along a riverbank, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said.
A 24-year-old Lake Mills woman was killed Sunday when her snowmobile hit a patch of open water and slid into trees along a riverbank, the Dodge County Sheriff's Office said. The woman was riding second in a line of six snowmobiles heading south on the frozen river next to N3000 County BB at 4:21 p.m. Sunday. A 26-year-old Sun Prairie man was driving behind her, saw the crash and the open water and jumped off his snowmobile, which also crashed into trees, a news release stated. The man had severe injuries but is expected to recover. He was flown to the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. The other four snowmobilers avoided crashing.
