Five people were killed in a crash Sunday afternoon on I-10 in Grand Ridge. The crash occurred around 4 p.m. when a Honda Civic heading eastbound on the interstate drove across the median and collided with a truck headed westbound. The driver of the Honda was transported to the hospital in critical condition. The other five passengers, including four children, were pronounced deceased at the crash site.

The collision happened Wednesday afternoon when a Ford pickup truck driven by Mickey Milam on I-10 hydroplaned on the wet road and went into the median. The truck crashed into a Honda SUV driven by Ben Bartlett and a Volkswagen sedan. Bartlett, his 11-year-old son, Charles, and 9-year-old daughter, Bailey, were killed. Ben's other daughter, 7-year-old Kaia, was transported to the hospital with serious injuries and his wife, Erin, sustained minor injuries. The family is from Cedar Falls, Iowa. Milam and his two passengers, Tyler Jackson and Bailey White, sustained minor injuries.
