A man was severely injured following a motorcycle accident in Spartanburg County late Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened at 3:35 pm on Cross Anchor Highway, near Watson Road. According to Billy Elder with the South Carolina Highway Patrol, a 59-year old man was riding his 2008 Kawasaki motorcycle east on Cross Anchor Highway when he lost control of the motorcycle, went off the right side of the road and was ejected from the motorcycle, which ended up in a ditch.
A 58-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Cherokee County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said one vehicle was headed south on Highway 11 when in it collided with a northbound vehicle driven by George Edward Gann, 60, of Chesnee.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene, according to SCHP.
Gann was transported by ambulance to Spartanburg Regional Hospital. His condition has not yet been released.
The Anderson County Coroner says one man has died after his car crashed into a tree on Fire Tower Road near Highway 8 around 5:30 Saturday morning.
James Arthur Gravley, 42, of Piedmont, died in the crash.
Investigators said Gravley was traveling at a high rate of speed and was thrown from the vehicle on impact. Gravley was not wearing a seat belt, the coroner said.
The wreck happened less than a half-mile from Gravley's home, investigators said.
Gravley was a former South Carolina National Guardsman who served in Afghanistan with military police.
Traffic had to be diverted around an accident that blocked a section of Poinsett Highway in Greenville County Friday.
The accident happened at approximately noon at the intersection of Poinsett Highway and Roe Ford Road.
It blocked the northbound lanes of Poinsett Highway.
The South Carolina Highway Patrol said the driver was operating a dump truck while pulling a trailer with a boom-type crane on it.
Police said as the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Roe Ford Road, the trailer and crane flipped over on its side.
A 21-year-old woman was killed in an early morning crash Friday in Laurens County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Coroner Nick Nichols identified the victim as 21-year-old Alexis Ashley, who lived a short distance from where the crash happened on Renno Road.
Nichols said the wreck happened just after 6 a.m.
He said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head and body.
Nichols said Ashley was pronounced at the scene.
A 29-year-old man has died after a head-on crash in Anderson County.
The accident happened at 7:24 a.m. on White Hall Road at Keasler Road.
A delivery truck out of Greensboro, N.C. and a car out of Georgia were involved, according to the Anderson County Coroner.
The coroner said the victim, later identified as Josiah James Labonte, 29, was the driver of the car.
The driver of the delivery truck stated that the car drifted into his lane and the vehicles hit head-on.
Two 19-year-olds were killed in a crash Monday afternoon, according to the Cherokee County coroner.
Fowler said the driver, Lynsey Marie Davis, of Gaffney, and backseat passenger, Zekeius Nijae Sullivan, of Greenville, were killed in the wreck. Davis' sister, Kristen Leeanna Davis, 22, was a front seat passenger. She was treated and released from Novant Health Gaffney Medical Center, Fowler said.
The Pickens County coroner's office has identified a man killed in a wreck Sunday morning.
The crash happened along Highway 183 and Sunset Drive.
The coroner's office says 83-year-old Joel Edward Allgood died at Greenville Memorial Hospital after the crash.
The wreck remains under investigation by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
