A 58-year-old man was killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash in Cherokee County, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
Troopers said one vehicle was headed south on Highway 11 when in it collided with a northbound vehicle driven by George Edward Gann, 60, of Chesnee.
The driver of the southbound vehicle, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected and died at the scene, according to SCHP.
Gann was transported by ambulance to Spartanburg Regional Hospital. His condition has not yet been released.
When the crash happened, it caused a third vehicle east bound on SC 110 that was driven by Edward Andrew Deaton, 25, of Chesnee, to crash. The Highway Patrol website did not indicate that Deaton was injured.
The investigation into the crash is continuing.
