Stephen J. Maikisch III was driving his car at a high rate of speed at around 5:38 a.m. on Route 17 when he exited at Exit 90, went through a t-intersection and left the roadway.The vehicle traveled for about 200 feet before landing upright in the Delaware River. Maikisch was found dead in the car. The incident is still under investigation.

A car that was traveling on the 710 Freeway in Longbeach flew off of a ramp and landed upside down in the Los Angeles River. Two men and one woman died at the scene. One passenger survived and was taken to a nearby trauma center. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

A motorcyclist traveling at high speed crashed on the Antioch Bridge Sunday afternoon and most likely flew over the railing into the water below. Witnesses saw a motorcyclist speeding southbound on the bridge at approximately 4:30 p.m. Minutes later, a collision was reported with the driver flipping over the railing. The motorcycle was found on the shoulder of the bridge, but the driver was not found. The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Department and the Coast Guard searching the water had not located a body as of early evening. A car was allegedly involved in the crash as well.
