A vehicle fatally struck a construction worker on the Suitland Parkway causing the roadway to be shutdown early Thursday morning. The accident occurred around 11 p.m. Wednesday night when an SUV hit a construction worker, according to D.C. Police. Officials said they did not know if the man was sitting in his truck or standing outside of it at the time of the accident. The roadway was shutdown in both directions between Firth Sterling Avenue and Stanton Road SE for several hours overnight and into early Thursday morning.
