The crash happened about 3:15 p.m. Versailles Road and Terrace View Drive, when a person driving a Hyundai and three people were riding in a Honda Civic when they collided head-on. Both of the people who died were in the Civic, and two others were injured. The driver of the Civic, Logan Hayes of Versailles, was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, while Christopher Sterry of Lexington died at the hospital. Alcohol may have been a factor.

Granados was first driving east on I-182 when she was attempting to change onto southbound SR 395 but failed to negotiate the curve properly and went through the median onto the northbound lanes of SR 395 before striking on oncoming car driven by Ruiz-Alarcon. Despite the fact that Granados was not wearing a seat belt, both her and Ruiz-Alarcon were ok after the damaging collision. Donald Jeffries, 50, of Goshen was traveling east on Highway 36 around 11:30 a.m. when his vehicle crossed the center line and collided head-on with a westbound vehicle driven by Stephen Wise. Jeffries, who was not wearing a seat belt, was transported by ambulance to the Carroll County Memorial Hospital. Wise, 35, was flown to University of Louisville Hospital. Nicole Wise, a 34 year-old passenger traveling with Stephen Wise was transported by helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital. A juvenile passenger in Wise’s vehicle was flown to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville.

An investigation was under Friday into a head-on crash in rural East San Diego County that killed a suspected drunken driver and left a 48-year-old Humbolt woman hospitalized with life-threatening injuries. The crash occurred on Church Road, south of Old Highway 80, late Thursday afternoon, according to a California Highway Patrol Office.
