The name of the man killed in a plane crash near Omro has been released. The Winnebago County Sheriff's office says 57-year old James Sakowski from Oshkosh died when his ultra-light plane crashed in a field around 7:15pm Wednesday night.. Investigators say he was the only person on board..The FAA is investigating what caused the crash

Police said two people were struck by a train in Mauston early Saturday and are dead.

The Mauston Police Department said in a news release that the Juneau County Sheriff's Office was notified by the Canadian Pacific railroad that a train had struck two individuals who were standing on the railroad tracks at about 12:03 a.m.

The two people were identified Monday as Jessica L. McQuiston, 19, of rural Mauston, and Thomas G. Kratz, Jr., 19, of rural Wisconsin Dells.

The incident is being investigated as a double suicide.

Brown County sheriff's authorities have identified the driver who was killed and the passenger who was injured when a box truck exploded in the Green Bay area. Fifty-nine-year-old Gerald Throw, of the Oconto County community of Sobieski, died in the accident. Twenty-nine-year-old Jose Perez, of Green Bay, is hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.

The Florence County Sheriff's Office says a De Pere man has died in a snowmobile crash in northeastern Wisconsin. The accident happened just before 2 a.m. Saturday in the Town of Tipler. Authorities say the snowmobile went off a road and hit a tree. The victim was identified as 48-year-old Russell Krause of De Pere. Officials say he was wearing a helmet at the time, but died on impact. The sheriff's office says alcohol and speed were contributing factors in the crash.

Charges have been filed against a driver accused in a hit and run crash that lodged the victim in the vehicle's windshield in Manitowoc.

Twenty-year-old Jamie Hang is charged with four counts, including first-degree recklessly endangering safety.

Fifty-six-year-old Steven Gove had just finished delivering newspapers on his tricycle Jan. 18 when he was hit from behind and crashed through the windshield of the car that struck him. Gove says the man drove home, got out of the vehicle and walked away.

A Michigan man was killed Friday in a snowmobile accident in Columbia County, according to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. The accident was reported about 1 p.m. near Cambria, and speed and snow conditions may have been factors in the accident, according to the DNR.

Dangerous conditions are wreaking havoc on southeast Wisconsin's snow-covered highways, with at least one person dead and several interstates facing lane closures. "Road conditions are extremely slippery and dangerous," the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office advised Sunday. ■ A fatal rollover crash occurred Sunday morning on I-94 eastbound at Highway 100. Drivers heading east from Waukesha County are advised to exit before the Milwaukee County line.

A Manitowoc man suspected in a fatal road rage incident has been banned from driving and having any contact with the survivors of the crash. The orders are conditions of bail, which Shawn Lischka posted late Wednesday night and was released from the Manitowoc County Jail. Nineteen-year-old Eric Neuman of Two Rivers died Tuesday night when the pickup he was driving crashed into a guardrail and crashed. Neuman was thrown from the truck. Three others in his vehicle survived. Authorities have accused the 22-year-old Lischka of side-swiping Neuman's truck in a road rage incident.
