Craig Shuetta was driving a pickup on Interstate 10 just after 5 p.m. when a semi-truck that was pulled off onto the side of the freeway rejoined the road. The pickup rear-ended the semi, causing the accident. No more information was immediately available. Interstate 10 was closed through the night, and is now open but motorists are told to expect delays.

A Thursday collision on Interstate 10 involving two commercial vehicles left one person dead and two injured. At approximately 6:30 PM, one of the vehicles was sitting in the emergency lane on I-10 east and began to merge into moving traffic. An oncoming vehicle attempted to avoid striking the first, swerving into the emergency lane, rear-ending the merging vehicle. The crash partially blocked traffic on I-10 for more than 12 hours. The driver of the first vehicle, Ronald W. Pinkey, 42, was injured and sent to the hospital. The second driver, Jeffrey S. Sneed, 44, died at the accident site.

Preliminary information indicates that the driver of a commercial box truck lost control while driving in the in the parking lot of an industrial building and struck an employee inside the building, which is located near Broadway and Dobson roads. The employee inside the building was killed. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

A semi truck heading west on I-10 crossed into eastbound traffic near Casa Grande, Arizona, crashing head-on into a car, and three other cars piled up as a result. The driver of the first vehicle hit died at the scene of the collision, and and the semi truck driver and antother of the piled up car drivers were taken to the hospital. An investigation is underway.

A man was killed early Sunday morning in Scottsdale after he was struck by a cab while crossing the street, police said. The 45-year-old man had left a restaurant on Scottsdale Road north of McDowell Road and was crossing Scottsdale mid-block, not in a crosswalk, when he was hit by a Yellow Cab that was driving north, a Scottsdale Police Department spokesman said. The man was taken to Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center where he died, police said.
