Eileen Jenkins was driving eastbound on Liberty Street at high speed around 11:10 a.m. when she passed two cars stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Liberty and Murray streets. She was struck by a Toyota Camry traveling north on Murray street, and the force of the impact caused her to collide with a parked car on Liberty Street. She was taken to Hartford Hospital in critical condition. The driver of the Camry, identified as Marie Rivers, was taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital.

Interstate 95 South is closed near exit 93 in North Stonington because of a crash involving a Department of Transportation vehicle. Crews were patching potholes on the highway when a minivan entered the work zone at a high rate of speed and crashed into one of the DOT trucks, according to a department spokesperson. At least 3 people were seriously injured, according to state police.

Adam Lincoln was driving on Hillside Drive at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the vehicle, it left the roadway, and crashed into a tree. One passenger died and another seriously injured. Lincoln's blood-alcohol level was found to be more than twice the legal limit. He was sentenced to 3 1/2 years in prison for second-degree manslaughter with a motor vehicle, second degree-assault, operating under the influence, traveling unreasonably fast and failure to maintain the proper lane.
