The York County Coroner's Office has released the name of the woman who died Saturday after a train crashed into a car in Newberry Township. Cori Elizabeth Sisti, 23, of New Cumberland, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fatal accident, according to the coroner's office. An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Monday to determine the manner and cause of death. The crash occurred just before 5 p.m. Saturday when Sisti and two others in the car were on their way to a family gathering near the Susquehanna River, Sgt. Richard Rocco of the Newberry Township Police Department said.

State Trooper Frederick Schimp was driving a Pennsylvania State Police Ford Explorer patrol unit at 3:30 a.m. Saturday when he failed to stop at a stop sign in Erie County, Pa. The resulting accident killed the woman whose car ran into the trooper's vehicle as it rolled through the stop sign. But a state police spokesman said the trooper and a partner in the state police unit weren't responding to a call at the time of the crash. All this, according to the Erie Times-News.

The passenger of a pickup was killed Friday night after the vehicle tried to pass a car on rural Gum Tree Road, hit it, ran down an embankment and overturned into a farm field.

State police said Courtney Taylor, 23, of Lincoln University, was identified as the passenger.

An unidentified 16-year-old in the back seat was taken to A.I. DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington for treatment of injuries. His condition was not released.

State police said Taylor was the front-seat passenger of a pickup operated by Blake Norcini, 21, of Coatesville, said state police.

Three people were injured in a violent two-car accident on Route 422 in North Lebanon Township Thursday evening at the start of the Fourth of July holiday weekend.

Rescue crews were sent at 6:30 p.m. to Prescott Drive and East Cumberland Street, also known as Route 422.

The crash closed Route 422 between Prescott Drive and Narrows Drive for several hours. The Lebanon County accident reconstruction team was summoned to the scene to assist in the investigation of the crash.

Police confirmed Wednesday evening that the man killed earlier in a crash off Route 30 in Manchester Township was a 31-year-old Dover Township resident. Brent Amspacher, of Oakland Road in Dover Township, was northbound on Toronita Street in a 2000 Mitsubishi Galant at approximately 3:26 p.m. when he made a left turn onto westbound Route 30/Arsenal Road, according to the Northern York County Regional Police Department. After making the turn, the Mitsubishi travelled another 100 yards before driving over a raised cement median.

Authorities in Pennsylvania say a falling tree landed on a moving car, killing two of the four children sitting in the back seat. Police in Somerset County tell the Daily American that the car was in Conemaugh Township when the tree fell Monday afternoon. Coroner Wallace Miller says two children died of blunt force trauma. Conemaugh Township Police Chief Louis Barclay identified the victims as 8-year-old Ryleigh Freiwald and 6-year-old Mikayla Freiwald, sisters who are believed to be from the Johnstown area.

An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Tuesday morning on an 18-year-old who was killed Sunday afternoon in a car crash in Newberry Township. Joshua Hershey was a passenger in a Corvette that overturned and burst into flames, police said. His autopsy will be performed Tuesday at 8 a.m. at Lehigh Valley Hospital, according to the York County Coroner's Office.

A Hanover man was pronounced dead Saturday at York Hospital after he was seriously injured a day earlier in a crash in York County, according to Southwestern Regional Police. Mason P. Brady, 22, was ejected from the 1989 Ford Ranger he was driving westbound in the 5900 block of Glenville Road, Manheim Township, police said. Brady lost control negotiating the truck through a curve and the vehicle rolled several times before coming to a stop, according to police. The crash was reported around 10:30 p.m.

Three vehicles were involved in a fatal crash this afternoon on Route 30 in North Huntingdon, a Westmoreland County public safety spokeswoman said. The crash was reported at 2:40 p.m. at 14679 Route 30 near the Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, she said. Matthew A. Kellermann, 18, of North Huntingdon died, Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner Joshua Zappone said. No other information was immediately available. All lanes of the highway reopened around 5:15 p.m., the North Huntingdon Township Police Department reported.

One person was killed Wednesday afternoon in a crash in Harmar Township. Ezra Briggs, 24, of West Deer was killed in a wreck involving two vehicles on Indianola Road/Route 910. Police said Briggs crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit in the passenger side, causing both vehicles to roll. The driver of the other vehicle was injured, but not seriously. The cause of the crash is under investigation. Indianola Road was closed for more than three hours between Locust Hill Road and Commerce Drive.
