Just before 1:00 a.m., an SUV driven by Raini Kishwalk, 18, was driving south on I-84 near Ellensburg and began to drift off of the road. Kishwalk overcorrected and the vehicle departed the roadway on the other side and overturned. A passenger in the vehicle, identified as Amy J. Hunt, 24, remains in the hospital after the collision, while Kishwalk has already been treated for more minor injuries and released. It is believed that alcohol was involved in this crash, meaning Kishwalk could face vehicular assualt charges.
It was about 2:00pm when Carriveau, who was driving east on I-90, veered off the roadway to the left, which caused the car to roll multiple times until it finally came to rest on its side in the median. He was injured in the crash and taken to Ellensburg Hospital, but has likely already been released as he was supposed to be transferred to Harborview Medical Center, but there was no record of him being there. It was just before 5:00am when a pickup truck driven by Smartlowit with Malatare and three other teenagers as passengers departed the roadway, hit an embankment, and rolled over before coming to rest in a ditch. All occupants of the vehicle were injured and taken to a hospital, and an unidentified 15-year-old who was in the truck was transferred by helicopter to Oregon Health and Science University hospital.
While a neighbor claims that they heard a crash at about 2:00am, is wasn't until about 6:50am, an upside-down crashed vehicle was discovered off of Long Lake Road, with a deceased 40-year-old man inside. The cause of the crash has not been officially determined, but police discovered alcohol containers and a syringe in the vehicle, making DUI a definite possibile cause for this accident. A man was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants after a single-vehicle crash on state Highway 14 Saturday night. Charles Graves, 54, whose residence is unknown, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu west on the highway when his vehicle crashed and rolled just west of Lieser Road. When the Malibu came to rest, it was partially blocking one of the lanes and responding personnel blocked both westbound lanes of the highway for a brief period of time, Finn said.
