Fairbanks, AKNorth Pole police responded to a report of someone riding an ATV on the North Pole High School's football field at 1 in the morning. When police arrived they found Robert Bernard Merriweather, 28, sitting on his still functioning but heavily damaged ATV near the student parking lot entrance. Merriweather would not answer questions and attmepted to flee the scene, crashing the ATV again before he fled on foot. Police found him at his home at 1:45 a.m.

Louisville, KYA Louisville Metro police officer was riding a police ATV on Baxter Avenue, when a white Mustang that was attempting to turn left failed to yield to the officer. Despite his attempts to brake, the officer collided with the back of the Mustang, and sustained face and leg injuries. The driver of the car fled the scene of the accident.
