Charlotte, NCThe crash occurred on Highway 200 in Midland on Friday afternoon. Haley Marie Allen, 18, drifted off the roadway, over-corrected and crashed into oncoming traffic. They say no alcohol was involved. They also said Allen wasn't speeding or texting.

Charlotte, NCAmber Denise Basinger, 21, was riding in the passenger seat of 2015 Ford Mustang driven by 18-year-old Faisal Abdulrahman Al-Julaipi, when he failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Rockwell Road and Old Beatty Ford Road, and drove directly into the path of an SUV driven by John Clifford Goodman, 44. The SUV smashed into the passenger side of the Mustang, killing Basinger at about 3:45 p.m. Al-Julaipi and Goodman were both treated for minor injuries, and Al-Julaipi was charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Sunday, May 24, 2015Investigators say 18-year-old Chasen Brown was changing lanes when she approached another vehicle quickly on I-240 near Charlotte Street Sunday morning. She overcorrected to avoid hitting the vehicle and lost control, leaving the roadway and striking a tree. She died at the scene.

Charlotte, NCAn 18-year-old was driving on McIlwain Road near Heath Springs around 11 p.m. Sunday, when he ran off the right side of the road, over corrected, and struck a tree. Early reports indicate the driver was a male, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. We'll update this story as more information becomes available.

Charlotte, NCNeither Robertson or Engelmann were wearing a seat belt, and Robertson was ejected from the vehicle and died later at a local hospital. Engelmann was treated for injuries and then faces various charges including DWI.
