A Harley-Davidson motorcycle was stopped just east of Collins Road, waiting to make a left turn, when a Honda Accord heading the same direction failed to stop, hitting the motorcycle from behind. The Washington State Patrol has identified the woman killed in a Tuesday night accident on state Highway 2 about four miles north of Spokane. Dorothy J. Ryan, 47, of Spokane was walking in the highway’s northbound lane at 8:20 p.m. when she was hit by 2002 Ford Focus driven by Sara M. Babcock, 20, of Chattaroy. A news release from the WSP said Ryan was intoxicated. She was taken to Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead, the release said. Babcock, who was wearing a seat belt, was not injured.

A driver was charged with vehicular homicide for allegedly killing 16-year-old Justin Relethford along Highway 410 in Enumclaw on Oct. 31. Police said 20-year-old Cody Money was the driver of the pickup truck. He said he told police the night of the incident that he looked down to answer his cellphone. Police documents revealed multiple marijuana-smoking devices were found in Money’s truck. Three hours after the crash, Money’s blood was drawn and it tested positive for marijuana and oxycodone.
