Though all passengers were wearing seat belts, two men and one woman were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. One man had life-threatening injuries and another man had minor injuries, and both were airlifted to local hospitals. “It was an off-road area and the driver was apparently doing some kind of off-road style driving and lost control of his vehicle,” CHP Officer Eric Priessman said. “We don’t know if alcohol played a role in the crash, but we are still looking at that possibility.”

Police are investigating the death of a woman from Cahokia after she crashed her vehicle Saturday afternoon. Authorities say Brittany Allred, 25, was driving northbound on North Liberty Road in Jarvis Township near Troy, Illinois when her Ford Explorer veered off the road and hit an embankment, causing the vehicle to roll over multiple times. Police have not determined how Allred lost control of her vehicle, but they do say she was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She suffered blunt force trauma to her head, chest, and abdomen.
