The collision happened on Friday evening when 20-year-old Cole Hallyburton ran a stop sign and crashed into a sedan.The truck rolled multiple times, and two passengers were ejected. Luke Bartlett, 20, was pronounced deceased at the crash site. Another passenger was airlifted to Maryland Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore. A total of seven people sustained injured.
Investigators believe that Manuel A. Valencia, 32, was under the influence of alcohol when he turned left from Ritchie Highway onto College Parkway without obeying the traffic signal. It was about 7:30 p.m., and Valencia's car was struck by an SUV driven by Charles Michael Nossick, 56, where it was pushed into and crushed against a traffic pole. Valencia was declared dead at the scene of the crash, while Nossick was pronounced dead shortly after being rushed to the hospital by ambulance.
Amy Riggs was driving a grey Subaru east on Darnestown road when a Ford F-250 crossed the centerline and struck Rigss' vehicle head-on. The F-250 rolled several times and hit a Kia Sorento before coming to a stop. Riggs sustained fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of F-250, Kenneth Bynaker Jr., suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital. The driver of the Sorento, Christine Goldstein, was also transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
