A multi-vehicle accident has been cleared from Interstate 83 southbound in northern York County, according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.

The accident was earlier blocking all lanes of southbound traffic between Exit 32 (Route 382) and Exit 28 (Route 295), PennDOT said.

Traffic cameras as of 9:15 a.m. Monday showed that traffic is still backed up considerably, but PennDOT said residual delays are to be expected.

The accident was first reported at 7:50 a.m. Traffic was at a near standstill and motorists were being detoured off the highway.

A Dover man was arrested Sunday after police in Middletown said he drove drunk, crashed a stolen vehicle into the Hurst building on South Union Street and then fled the scene of the crash. Rueben Jason Estrada, 30, of the 3300 block of Village Court Drive, was arrested in the vicinity of a 7-11 store on East Main Street after the incident occurred around 2 a.m., police said. The crash caused serious damage to the building, located at 29 South Union Street, according to authorities. Estrada also did not have permission to drive the vehicle involved in the incident, police said.

Penbrook police are searching for a suspect in a hit-and-run that occurred early Friday along Market Street Road. A vehicle hit a pedestrian around 5 a.m. and caused that person to suffer an arm injury. The pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for treatment, police said. The striking vehicle left one of its mirrors at the scene of the incident as it drove off, according to police.

A wrong-way crash on Interstate 81 in Cumberland County left one woman dead on Tuesday night. State police say a tractor-trailer crashed head-on into a vehicle headed north in the southbound lanes in Silver Spring Township. The collision happened after the truck sideswiped another vehicle trying to avoid the oncoming car. The crash happened shortly before 9 p.m. on I-81 near mile marker 57 outside of Mechanicsburg. The driver of the wrong-way vehicle, Aaron King, of Carlisle, was killed

At least four children were airlifted by medical helicopter Tuesday afternoon from the scene of a one-vehicle crash in Menallen Township, according to state police. A van driven by Leah Rudolph 33, overturned on Coon Road at approximately 3:47 p.m., said a state police spokesman. It was later determined that she fell asleep at the wheel. It was not immediately known exactly how many people were injured in the incident, but at least four were flown from the scene by two medical helicopters, Hicks said.

A Quarryville man was seriously injured after he and two others were ejected from a pickup truck during a single-vehicle crash in Providence Township on Sunday, state police said.

A fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer is causing major delays on Route 222 in Lancaster County.

The crash happened shortly after 4 a.m. in the northbound lanes of 222 about a mile south of the Denver Turnpike exit.

Northbound traffic is down to one lane and is expected to remain that way for hours (as of 10:30 a.m.).

The tractor-trailer was carrying construction equipment. It's not yet known what caused the crash.

Downed power lines closed a road in Swatara Township in Lebanon County for more than an hour after an SUV crashed into a utility pole earlier Wednesday, state police said. Neither the 17-year-old female driver nor the 16-year-old male passenger of the 1998 Ford Ranger were seriously injured in the crash, which police said took place around 9 a.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Greble Road in Lebanon.

The Perry County coroner's office has been called to the scene of an accident along Route 11/15 in Watts Township. The accident involving a tractor trailer and a pickup truck has blocked Route 11/15 south, along the 3100 block of the Susquehanna Trail, near the New Buffalo Restaurant. One person later identified as John W. Graves 60, was ejected during the collision and was found unconscious on the roadway, according to initial dispatches from the scene.

A 55-year-old construction worker was killed Monday morning at a job in Windsor Township, York County. Police identified the victim as Benedict Todt, of Gardeners, Adams County. Todt was working at the Red Lion Water Authority pumping facility at 500 Gebhart Rd. when the accident happened around 11 a.m.
